The 19-year-old Mühlviertler Niklas Bauer completed a double apprenticeship as a chef/pastry chef at Zauner in the past four years. He went through various departments both in the main building in Pfarrgasse and in the Grand Café Zauner on the Esplanade.
Due to his outstanding performance in the final apprenticeship examination and the associated award, Niklas was appointed by LH Mag. Thomas Stelzer at the Linzer Landhaus. The fact that Niklas is one of the best of his vintage was also demonstrated by his participation in the Federal Apprentice Competition of Confectioners; The prerequisite for this was his top ranking in the previous OÖ state competition.
Apprenticeship training has a long tradition in the Zauner confectionery; over the last 50 years, more than 130 apprentices have been trained, who at Zauner have a wide range of expertise and highly qualified vocational training, so that they are highly valued not only in Austria but also internationally.
Niklas will soon prove his skills in his parents’ company in parish churches – we wish him the very best for his future tasks!
