Confectionery Zauner immortalized on stamp

On 29 June 2019, two institutions, both of which can proudly look back on centuries of history, found harmony on a unique stamp: on the one hand, the former one. k.u.k. Hofzuckerbäckerei Zauner (since 1832 attraction for every coffee and dessert lover), on the other hand the Austrian. Post AG (the first Austrian Stamp was published in 1850).

Like. S. Schöller (Head of Product Management Philatelie Österr. Post AG) presented the special stamp at a ceremony at the Grand Café Zauner Esplanade; the invited guests found the opportunity to obtain the coveted first day stamp and were pampered in the usual “Zauner manner”.

The special stamp shows the facade of the main house of the traditional confectionery and probably the most famous specialty of the family business: the “original Zaunerstollen” – a symbol for Bad Ischl and the Austrian. Confectionery. To be able to dress the cover of this year’s special brand “Gastronomy with Tradition” reflects an extraordinary honour for our family business!
