Christmas bazaar of the confectionery Zauner celebrates 40th anniversary!
Probably the largest sweet Christmas bazaar in the country has been enchanting young and old at the headquarters of the k.u.k. Hofzuckerbäckerei Zauner for 40 years now. Over 70 varieties of gingerbread, cookies and confectionery are included in the selection in the run-up to Christmas. In November 2022, the Christmas bazaar was now set up for the 40th time without interruption.
What began in 1982 as an impromptu presentation of Christmas Bakery and Gingerbread started because there was no more room in the showcase at the time, quickly developed into a unique experience in the run-up to Christmas: from the beginning of November, the front area of the venerable flagship store in Pfarrgasse will be devoted entirely to Christmas baking. Through elaborately produced showpieces, the confectioners of the Hofzuckerbäckerei demonstrate their creativity every year, while the attention to detail can be seen in the lovingly handmade and packaged baked goods. “The presentation of our products has always been a matter close to our hearts, because if the highest quality raw materials are produced in unmistakable handwork, then this sweet specialty also deserves high-quality packaging. Especially for the Christmas season, we therefore think of new sophisticated packaging uniques every year“, Susanne Zauner, who is responsible for the decoration, packaging and presentation of Zauner products. “I am extremely proud of our wide selection of Christmas baked goods that we conjure up in the late fall of each year. This selection is certainly unique in our industry. It gives me particular pleasure to see the many beaming faces in the café when our bazaar is set up – it creates an incomparable atmosphere that is difficult to describe. The fact that we are now equipping it for the 40th time and at the same time developing our range of products a little further each year is entirely in keeping with our company philosophy: to remain faithful to the tried and tested and open to the new.“, Managing Director Philipp Zauner. The Christmas bazaar can be visited from now until the Christmas holidays daily from 8:30 – 18:00 in the main building of the confectionery Zauner (Pfarrgasse 7, 4820 Bad Ischl).
